Summary
Strengths
- Associate degree targeting I.T. support for Christian organizations
- Adapting curriculum to changing times in
- making room for cloud (less of o.s., architecture, etc.)
- self learning
- Capitalizing on strength as a one-person program
Weaknesses
- need more o.s. and architecture
- one person program
- zoom can be rough on students
Areas to improve
- Programming professionally vs. programming as a student is a challenge
- Dealing with the typical c.s. interview questions when looking for a job
- Dedicated equipment and time for students for remote teaching for BU-X students (their own lab section) and really connect with remote students!
Ideas to consider
- The more CS students work with other departments -> makes us more important, students helped by integrating, providing tech support to others is good
- Computing across curriculum is liked by the advisory board
- "take" students to a programming competition
