Campus wide policies

• How many hours a semester. To be a full time student you must be enrolled for 12-17 hours a semester. Math 070 does count to the 12 hours but not to the hours required as an athlete. This must be true at the end of the semester.
• Application to graduate -> one should apply to graduate one year before you plan to graduate. See the campus resource links for access to the form.
• Dropping a course
• Taking an AGX course
• Appealing a grade
• Last 30 hours -> last 30 hours of a bachelor's degree must be completed at Bethel. An exception to this policy should be appealed before the class is taken.
• FERPA - Among other requirements of FERPA (federal law) is that your records are private and only available to those with an academic reason to see them. This means that your academic work cannot be discussed with family members without your explicit permission.
• incomplete grades - A student may be given an incomplete grade if:
  • at least 60% of the course is completed by the end of the semester
  • in situations where the student is in a difficult situation not of his/her own doing (sickness, etc.)
  • work must be completed by the end of the following semester
• Majors and minors (multiple)
• CLEP - CLEP exams can be taken to replace courses. These are treated as transfer credits. Therefore, they cannot be used for the last 30 hours of a bachelor's degree (since the last 30 hours of a degree must be completed at Bethel)
• Credit by examination - If a CLEP test is not available for a particular subject/content area, a test may be developed and administered by a Bethel faculty member. This examination should provide evidence that the student is able to display all the skills and knowledge required to successfully pass a given course. While these tests will meet a requirement at Bethel, they normally will not transfer to other colleges.

• Changing degree/catalog -> to change a major/minor/catalog, one must complete a form from the registrar's office
• Changing advisor -> to change an advisor, one must complete a form from the registrar's office.
• Private tutorial and independent studies

• Transferring credits to Bethel - Details as to the policy of what can transferred can be found at the registrar's office. In all situations, a formal transcript is required.
