There are many things that one can do to be able to get the most out of a college education.  Some of these deal with making a transition from high school to college.  Others deal with how to succeed in a Dr. Bareiss class.  These Gems cover some of these "secrets."  The idea is to provide students help in some very specific areas.  There are two ways to use them.  One is to just read them for you own benefit.  This you may do at any time for any reason.  In this case you may skip the last part of any Gem. (But consider doing them anyways, just don't turn them in.) The second is to do them and earn extra credit

To earn extra credit you will need to make a commitment with the instructor for the class you want extra credit.  There are a number of steps and a number of "regulations".
