CSC 450 Senior project

Overview

The primary goal of this course is to develop a computer system and to learn what is involved in developing a larger system.

Requirements

  • spend at least 135 hours on the project
  • get the project approved by the program coordinator (Dr. Bareiss). The actual project can be overseen by other pre-approved folks
  • meet with the project supervisor at least 8 times during the term to discuss progress and the next steps
  • submit a summary report describing
    • what the software does
    • what future improvements can be done
    • the process of developing the software and what was learned about it
  • submit the project to the GitHub Center for Computing repository

Misc

  • the project can be a team project (but the size must then be larger)
  • it can be done during any term as long as the student can find a project supervisor.
  • Grade:
    • Excellent job (but always room for improvement): A
    • Very good job (but something is lacking): B
    • Acceptable job (but does need improvement): C
    • others -> don't want to happen
