AI-Generated Text Policy for All Class Assignments

Fall 2023 and Onward

Early Submission
For those who turn in their assignment at least 1 day before the deadline, they are asked to re-do the assignment if there is any AI-generated text that is above 0%.
On-Time Submission
If the assignment is turned in on the day it is due, there is a corresponding percent deduction for the percent of the assignment that was generated by AI, up to 30% (e.g., if your AI-generated % is 25%, then there will be a 25% deduction off of the final score of the paper). A 31% or higher AI-generated paper that is turned in the day it is due will be checked by 2 other AI detectors and if the trend is consistent, the assignment will be a 0 and a report of academic dishonesty will be formally filed at the dean’s office. Notes: (1) After the first incident of verified AI-generated work of any kind, the student will be required to handwrite all future work. (2) If two or more cases of AI-generated work are verified in the class (for the same person or different people), the entire class will be required to handwrite all future work in the semester.
