Private Tutorials and Independent Studies

Private tutorials are for courses in the catalog. Independent Studies are for studying material that is not taught in a classroom format.

  • cost: both cost an extra amount per hour (current $80)
  • both require and drop/add form
  • both must be done in conjunction with a willing professor

Private Tutorial

Tutorial Approval Form must be signed by the professor who is agreeing to work with the student, and by the Dean of the School. This form includes: reason why student cannot take the course in the regular format, meeting times, and the method of evaluation for the course.

Independent

Independent Study Guide must be signed by the professor who is agreeing to work with the student, and by the Dean of the School. This form includes: a description of the project, a brief statement of the project requirements, and the method of evaluation. Grade issued is Pass/No Pass.
